Awards Ceremony!

Today we had our all-school awards ceremony and slide show. It was a bittersweet day for sure. I keep telling myself that I should have figured out by now how to not cry on the last day of school, but I think it's pointless. The kids are my family for 180 days and then just like that ... they're gone. I can only hope I've touched their lives in as many ways as they've touched mine. Farewell, my fourth graders! I miss you already.

  1. I told myself I was not going to cry at our awards/5th grade graduation ... HA! I could barely get it together to share my ending poem to my graduating kiddos ... good grief. You hit it on the head ... they are EVERYTHING for a whole year ... and then you never see some of them again. It's just wrong. Looks like a lovely ceremony :)

    Two days to go until promotion--I actually carry in a box of tissues!

    Well, you'll have to ask Mrs. Pfeifer ... because that's HER white board now. I'm not sure if you've heard, but I'm moving up to teach at the reading and writing at the middle school. I'm so bummed I won't see your smiley face next year when you're in fifth grade but this means I'll see you (and possibly be your teacher again) at the middle school!
